'Halo The Master Chief Collection' Xbox Free Month Deal for Players From Microsoft

Microsoft sent free month of Xbox Live to "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" players.

There are no manual steps required to get the free game since it is automatically applied to the player's accounts. The gift is only available to users who played the game online on or before Dec. 19, 2014.

In addition, 343 Industries reintroduced "Halo 4" and Team Hardcore playlist for matchmaking on Xbox One. The said playlists were originally available during the initial release in November 2014 but it was removed because of online problems.

Team Hardcore showcases "Halo 2" Classic game categories. Halo 3 categories are in for a future release. Developers promised additional playlists for the "The Master Chief Collection" such as an objective-only hopper and two teams named Snipers and Doubles.

"Halo" fans will be happy to know that this is not the last update they will receive. 343 announced that it will release the next update over the weekend after tests are completed. The said update will focus on improvement of UI, game-specific multiplayer items, matchmaking and controls.

The free game and updates are in line with the problems that the gamers faced regarding the launch last year. The game had a launch trouble wherein matchmaking was not functional and the launch party was disorganized. Some players even reported that they were unable to play the game at all.

The developers have exerted effort in fixing the online problems of "Halo." Although most of the errors were resolved, there are still remaining issues.

Hardcore "Halo" fan Adam McGuire commented that he was highly disappointed with the launch and although there were efforts to compensate for it, some problems persist. Mc Guire added that the problems are related to Xbox Live and the fact that they are paying for the service is a big letdown.

Fans are crossing their fingers for a smooth release of 343's upcoming game "The Halo 5: Guardians" sometime this year.
