'Han Solo' Movie Rumor: A Newbie To Bag The Role?

After it was announced that the still untitled Han Solo movie would have a May 25, 2018 playdate, various rumors and news about the standalone film feature of the legendary "Star Wars" character have started to surface. As of this writing, it is being rumored that amidst the thousands of actors who have auditioned to breathe life to a younger Han Solo, it is very likely that an unfamiliar name will be chosen to don the character's iconic vest and boots.

According to Digital Spy, the team behind the upcoming Han Solo standalone movie feature have already shortlisted Miles Teller, Dave Franco, Logan Lerman, Jack Reynor, Ansel Elgort, Scott Eastwood, Emory Cohen and Blake Jenner from more than the 2500 actors who tried their luck for the role. However, the website noted that Anthony Ingruber, the Internet's favorite impersonator of Harrison Ford, may just bag the role. Ford played the original Han Solo on the "Star Wars" movies.

On the other hand, the upcoming Han Solo film feature may just be titled "Han Solo: A Star Wars Story," according to some speculations. However, whatever the film will be eventually titled as, those waiting for it may already have an idea as to how the story will pan out.

In his interview with Empire, "Star Wars" co-writer Lawrence Kasdan--- specifically for "The Empire Strikes Back," "Return of the Jedi," and "The Force Awakens" --- disclosed the direction of the Han Solo movie:

"It will not be like here is where he was born and this is how he was raised. I think what it will be is what was he like ten years earlier, you know. Maybe a little earlier you'll get a glimpse but... what formed the person we meet in the cantina? It is not so much about his specific history. It is about what makes a person like that?"

With Phil Lord and Chris Miller---directors of the "Jump Street" and "Lego" movies-- confirmed to helm the Han Solo movie, speculations that the movie will be loaded with funny antics and moments may not be a far cry at all.

Meanwhile, there are some rumors that the already scheduled showing of the Han Solo movie might be pushed to December 2018 after "Star Wars: Episode 8" was moved to a December 2017 playdate despite the earlier announcement that it will be shown on May 2017.
