Hannah Anderson Missing: Amber Alert Expanded to Oregon, New Details of Alleged Suspect Emerge

Hannah Anderson is still missing after allegedly being kidnapped by James DiMaggio. Now, the Amber Alert for the 16-year-old has been extended to Oregon, and new details are emerging about DiMaggio's history and relationship with the Anderson family.

"I can't fathom what happened in Jim's head," Hannah's father, Brett, told CNN. "He obviously just lost it. He basically became part of our family. I have been through every scenario in my brain. There was nothing ever to show any indication of this."

Police believe that DiMaggio murdered Brett's wife, Christina, then set fire to the family's home before fleeing the scene with Hannah and possibly her brother, Ethan. A child's body was found in the burned-out garage, but it was so badly burned that scientists are trying to perform DNA tests to identify the victim. There is a chance that it is the body of 8-year-old Ethan.

A friend of Hannah's told HLN's Nancy Grace that DiMaggio, 40, had expressed that he had feelings for Hannah.

"She had told me that when she had gone to a dentist appointment that he (DiMaggio) had told her that she's beautiful and pretty and he had told her that he would date her if she was his age. She was really weirded out by it and concerned. I told her not to talk to him because I thought that it was really strange," Alan MacNabb said.

Hannah was last seen on Saturday afternoon and reported missing the next day. An Amber Alert went out across the state of California and has since been extended to Oregon, where there has reportedly been a sighting of DiMaggio's vehicle. Anyone who comes into contact with DiMaggio is warned not to approach him as he may be armed.

"We need all the eyes and ears out there we can get in trying to find both DiMaggio and hopefully those two kids. Citizens should not try to interfere with this person at all. He's already proven he's a pretty dangerous fella," San Diego County Sheriff's Department officer Lt. Glenn Giannantonio told reporters.

An arrest warrant has been issued for DiMaggio's arrest, and he will be held on $1 million bond once taken into custody, San Diego County Superior Court spokeswoman Karen Dalton told CNN.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to call the San Diego County Sheriff's Department Office at (858) 974-2321 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
