Harvard Crimson vs New Mexico Lobos Live Stream Free: Watch Online NCAA 2013 March Madness College Basketball (TV Schedule)
Harvard Crimson vs New Mexico Lobos takes place in the NCAA 2013 tournament second round on Thursday night with both sides vying for a place in the third round. Harvard can be proud just to be here this year, but they will not be wanting to take an early exit and will be hoping to cause an upset here today. The game is scheduled to tip off at 10 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The No. 14 seeds Harvard Crimson could have been forgiven if they had given up all chances of making it to the NCAA this year after an academic scandal cost them their co-captains, Kyle Casey and Brandyn Curry. However, Coach Tommy Amaker is due some serious credit as he has got the team into shape and it would not be entirely unthinkable for them to steal this one.
Sophomore Wesley Saunders has been a ket figure for Harvard, scoring 16.5 points per game on average. In addition, Ivy League Rookie of the Year, freshman point guard Siyani Chambers has also posted 12.9 points per game on average, and has added 5.8 assists per game too.
New Mexico will have to watch that pair, and if they cannot keep them under control they could be on their way out of the competition early. Chambers gained wider recognition when he scored with just 4 seconds to go in their 65-64 win over Boston University, proving that he can cope with the pressure at the top. The Lobos will be looking to tie him up and halt his influence on the game.
Meanwhile New Mexico are the Mountain West Conference champions, and many are touting them to go far in this tournament this year. They have a number of players who have shone this year, including point guard Kendall Williams, who leads the team in points with 13.5 per game on average, as well as 5.0 assists per game.
The core advantage New Mexico may have is their defensive unit; Alex Kirk has recorded 62 blocks this season, helping the Lobos to 22nd rank in the country for field goal percentage allowed.
