'Hawaii Five-O' Season 6 Release Date, Plot Spoilers: After Kono and Adam, The Wedding Bells Could Also Be Ringing for McGarrett
Towards the end of "Hawaii Five-O" Season 5, fans were utterly delighted to see the union of Kono (Grace Park) and Adam (Ian Anthony). But if these reports are to be taken as true then the show's upcoming sixth season will also be ringing the wedding bells for none other than Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin).
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the CBS series will resume into the big screen with one big surprise for its followers - the Lieutenant Commander will be asking Catherine (Michelle Borth) to tie knot.
The publication, in fact, shared the first promo photo of the ring that will soon be worn by the future Mrs. Garrett. However, this won't be a straight line for Steve and Catherine.
"Boiling him down, McGarrett is a warrior with a huge heart," executive producer Peter Lenkov informed the media outlet. "From our first season, Catherine has stolen that heart and now he's ready to take that major leap in their relationship six years later. It's probably one of the bravest things this soldier has ever done."
For those who missed it, Catherine left Steve in the earlier seasons to continue her mission of finding the boy who got kidnapped by the Taliban. Steve was apparently heartbroken with her decision.
She did show up to attend Kono's nuptial. The two turned out to be happy with the reunion but Lenkov clarified, this time in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, that the situation between them is not yet settled.
Lenkov hopes that this issue will get resolved in the coming season and that the two finally lock in the deal.
But, as earlier hinted, this might not come easy for the two. Back to his interview with EW, the showrunner pointed out the arrival of Sarah Carter, who is slated to appear as Lynn, "a nature lover with whom McGarrett goes on a wild adventure."
"Let's just say that it's going to be a busy fall for our head of Five-0," Lenkov said (via EW).
"Hawaii Five-O" Season 5 premieres Friday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
