'Hellboy 3' News, Update: Ron Perlman Maintains Doing the Third Sequel Is "Essential" to the Whole Story

The talks for the reportedly third and final installment to Guillermo del Toro's "Hellboy" trilogy never seem to die down and new information has come up yet again, this time pointing out to the importance of "Hellboy 3" in the series.

During his appearance on the Empire Magazine podcast (via Collider.com), actor Ron Perlman admitted that he really felt like he's already done playing the titular character and that the "burning desire" to take on the part has already been extinguished.

However, a talk with del Toro made the 65-year-old changed his mind.

"…Guillermo told me what the resolve of the trilogy would look like, in broad strokes, and it's such an amazingly theatrical, cinematic idea, that I found it essential that we do it," he was quoted as saying by Empire (via Collider).

The "Sons of Anarchy" star went on to say that Hellboy was "designed to be a trilogy" – "with a beginning, a middle and an end."

Having done only the two-thirds of the story, the "Hand of God" actor feels that "we're not really done until we finish it."

Del Toro himself has already laid out the plans for the third outing of the well-meaning demon and Perlman once again revealed it to Empire. He said that being the "Beast of the Apocalypse," Anung Un Rama has to take down civilisation.

"He has to. It's non-negotiable," he said (via Collider).

In an earlier interview with del Toro, it was found out that the deal to make "Hellboy 3," which could cost "about $120 million," would require his next film "Pacific Rim 2" to be a "huge hit" which means it's still a long way to go.

Going to Kickstarter isn't really going to be an option, however. Perlman already told the public that he "wouldn't want to be involved in a crowdfunding." For him, it's not the job of the fans to "fund a movie." Instead, it's their part to just "sit back and buy popcorn and Coke and watch a movie and enjoy it."
