Hennessey News: Automaker Unveils Bugatti Chiron Rival in the Venom F5
Although the smartphone market has received a lot of activity in the past year, automakers are subtly stealing the show, what with more companies announcing some notably groundbreaking technology and design to be seen on a car. One such attention-grabbing unveiling in the automobile market is Hennessey's Venom F5, which is looking to go head to head with Bugatti's own hypercar, the Chiron, and it has a top speed of 300 miles per hour.
"Tyres are a limiting factor for Bugatti," chief executive officer John Hennessey told Top Gear. "But I don't believe they're a limiting factor for us. When we do our math, we know that we are not overloading them. We're not even close to the load specification of the tyres at our speeds."
Considering that the danger of going the full 300 miles per hour comes at the expense of the tires, it is important that it is able to handle the load of the friction of the rubber against the asphalt, as well as the heat. Hennessy will continue to make use of the famously expensive Michelin PAX, which is controversial given that Bugatti has offered a cheaper option. However, since the Hennessey Venom F5 was made to be significantly lighter, the tires will hold out at higher speeds and longer miles.
The Venom F5 has a low coefficient drag, which means that it is able to go from zero to 186 miles per hour in just 10 seconds. On the other hand, a full stop from 249 miles per hour can be achieved in under 30 seconds. Fans who live for speed has definitely got an eye out for the Hennessey Venom F5, but no one seems to be a sure buyer considering that Bugatti has yet to unveil the 300 miles per hour-capable Chiron.
There is no official release date yet for the Hennessey Venom F5, but it is expected to be priced at $1.6 million, and there will be 24 available examples to choose from.
