'Heroes: Reborn' Casts Jack Coleman as 'HRG'
NBC recently announced that it will reboot the hit series "Heroes" in a new sequel, "Heroes: Reborn." Producers revealed that one major original actor will be returning for "Reborn" and hopefully more actors from the original series will be invited and accept the invitation to return.
Tim Kring will write the 13-episode arc for NBC, but there will also be a digital series to introduce the new characters and storylines for "Heroes: Reborn." Fans don't know much more than that, but they are just as excited for the reboot as they were for the original series, which only lasted four seasons before being canceled in 2010.
As of now, Jack Coleman, who originated the character Noah Bennett, also known as HRG (Horn-Rimmed Glasses), is scheduled to star in the second series. HRG was the father to cheerleader Claire, played by Hayden Panettiere and was the focus of the original series. Panettiere has said that she has not been asked to star in the new series.

"Well, it was a shock to me," Panettiere said of learning about the series. "I mean, we had nothing, nothing to do with it; it will definitely be interesting to see how they reinvent that. I think it's a whole new set of characters. Who knows? It's a little bit of an interesting feeling because you go, 'That was our show, our home, our family,' something that we had a major part in creating as well, and I mean, I hope that they don't have somebody else playing our characters, that would be a little dagger in the heart. I wish them success in it, for sure," she told "Cosmopolitan" magazine.
Series regulars Zachary Quinto (Sylar) and Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli) have scheduling conflicts and will not be returning for "Reborn."
"Some of the familiar faces from the show are bound to drop in," NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt said at the press conference last month.
