'Heroes Reborn' Premiere Date, Cast and Spoilers News: Plot to Pick Up Where Season 4 Finale Left Us
NBC is due to premiere the highly anticipated series "Heroes Reborn" next month, just after its initial presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival.
"Heroes Reborn," a show following the footsteps of the popular NBC science fiction drama that ran for four seasons from 2006 to 2010, is due to make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival from Sept. 10 to 20, just before its premieres on NBC by Sept. 24.
The new 13-episode miniseries, created by the show's executive producer Tim Kring, will follow the lives of people with extraordinary abilities, just like the original show did five years ago.
"Heroes Reborn" is geared at picking up from the events of the original show after "Heroes" Season 4 ended.
Jack Coleman, who played cheerleader Claire Bennet's (Hayden Panettierre) father, Noah Bennet, will be returning to help carry the narrative explaining the events that occurred during the last five years after "Heroes" Season 4 finale.
Claire herself, who is reported to have died despite her regenerative powers, will be absent from "Heroes Reborn," but how she died is expected to come to light during the first few episodes of the new miniseries.
Claire died a year before the start of the story in "Heroes Reborn," Kring announced during the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills last Thursday.
Sinister villain Sylar (Zachary Quinto) won't be appearing on the show. According to Kring, "Heroes Reborn" will not be dealing with Syler's story. Power mimic Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) and strong woman Nikki Sanders (Ali Larter) will not be returning either.
Apart from Coleman, other actors in the original series will be appearing in "Heroes Reborn," including mind reading LAPD cop Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), space-time manipulator Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), genetics professor Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), and Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose).
They will be joined by a new cast of characters which include Zachary Levi, Danika Yarosh, Robbie Kay, and Ryan Guzman.
