'Heroes Reborn' September 24 premiere: Old heroes to return to help Evos

"Heroes Reborn" is set to premiere five years after the NBC series "Heroes" last aired. In the next series, the old heroes will come back to help the Evos fight for their survival.

On Sept. 24, the heroes will return to save the world on the premiere of "Heroes Reborn." However, in the reboot miniseries, people already know that there are some people who have superpowers and they have been dubbed as "Evos," which is short for evolved humans, according to the International Business Times (IBT).

"Heroes Reborn" will see new heroes cooperating with the old ones and helping each other survive in a world where they are being hunted down. In the finale of "Heroes," Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere) jumped off a building to show her extraordinary healing power. What she did exposed people of her kind, and now the Evos are trying to hide their abilities, the report details.

Despite the dark tone of "Heroes Reborn," there will always be something to delight fans. Some old heroes will reprise their roles in the reboot miniseries. Jack Coleman's Noah Bennet will be a regular character, Showbiz Junkies reports.

Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), and The Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis) will be among those who will have appearances in the upcoming NBC series.

Meanwhile, Claire supposedly died when Odessa, Texas was attacked by terrorists. But since she has the ability to heal from any kind of injury, there are speculations that she might still be alive after all. "Heroes Reborn" will begin five years after her jump from the building, the report relays.

Another thing worth noting is that "Heroes Reborn" will be "bloodier" compared to the original series, according to Zachary Levi, who plays hero hunter Luke Collins. He and his wife, Joane Collins (Judith Shekoni), will blame the death of their 9-year-old son on Evos.

"We believe it to be the fault of people with abilities and so we want to go and take care of those people and rid the plane of them because that's the right thing to do, we believe," the IBT quotes Levi. "And then there's a lot of blood on our hands."

"Heroes Reborn" will premiere for two hours on Sept. 24 on NBC at 8 pm EDT. The reboot miniseries will run for 13 episodes.
