'Heroes Reborn' spoilers: New heroes arise
The defunct "Heroes" franchise will see a new light this fall when "Heroes: Reborn" hits the small screen. The highly anticipated miniseries will take place a few years after the events of the fourth and last season of the original series.
The new series will feature a new breed of heroes out to save the world once more while hiding in plain sight and running away from the evil Primatech Corporation and Renautas Conglomerate, which are out to eradicate all evolved humans from the planet.
The series will introduce some interesting new characters such as Luke Collins (Zachary Levi) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni), a husband and wife vigilante team that is hell bent on revenge after the untimely death of their only child. There is much less information on the characters Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski), a conspiracy theorist who stalks Noah Bennet; teenagers on the run Tommy (Robbie Kay) and Emily (Gaitlin Green); Carlos (Ryan Guzman), a former soldier; Miko Otomo (Kiki Sukezane), a Japanese woman with a dangerous secret; and lastly, Malina (Danika Yarosh) and Erica (Rya Kihlstedt).
However, the series will also be seeing some old characters as seen in the newest trailer. Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman) becomes a bitter man whose memories have been erased by the corporation and learns the truth from Quentin. Other characters that will appear in the series from time to time are Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), the lovable former police offer; Micah Sanders (Noah Grey-Cabey); Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), the zany and delightful time-traveling hero; Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy); The Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis); and Angela Petrelli (Christine Rose), the vengeful and vindictive matriarch.
Another trailer titled "Lives in the Balance" shows Malina creating the signature solar eclipse that was present in the original series. It also shows the new and old heroes unite as they battle to save the world while trying to survive.
The finale of the original series sets up the scene for the reboot since it is the tragic event that happened that forced a lot of the heroes to go into hiding. Tim Krang stated that Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere) has been dead for over a year before the start of the reboot. Her death is the reason why Noah went into hiding.
The miniseries is currently being touted as a must watch show and Tim Krang, the show's creator, believes that it will become just as addictive as the original series. Fans of the old show will undoubtedly enjoy this new series as it explores what was interesting about the old series in the first place.
Heroes Reborn is set to air on Sept. 24 at 8 pm.
