Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Market Sued for Injuries
A woman visiting HGTV stars Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas has reportedly sued for "serious head injuries." The visitor from San Antonio, Texas has alleged that she had hit her head on a steel rod in the "Fixer Upper" couple's property.
Inquisitr reported that Nancy Brown, the visitor who pressed charges, claimed that she hit her head on a steel rod while trying to sit down on one of the outdoor dining canopies in Magnolia Market, a home improvement destination in Waco created and popularized by "Fixer Upper" stars Chip and Joanna Gaines.
Brown is seeking payment between $100,000 and $200,000 for her alleged "past and future medical expenses, past and future physical pain and mental anguish, and past and future physical and mental impairment" brought about by the incident, according to ABC 13.

Magnolia Market representative Brock Murphy declined to comment, after having said that he was not made aware of the complaint or the resulting lawsuit, according to Wacotrib. The lawsuit was filed in Waco's 414th State District Court by San Antonio attorney Michael Rowland on behalf of Nancy Brown.
The lawsuit described the incident as having resulted in injuries for Brown. "Plaintiff, while on defendant's premises, suffered serious and permanent bodily injuries as a direct result of the dangerous condition created by the height and steel rods used for the canopies which are affixed to picnic tables located in an outdoor dining area on defendant's premises," according to the filing.
"Specifically, plaintiff, when attempting to sit down at said tables, plaintiff's head hit the low hanging and concealed steel rods, thereby causing plaintiff to suffer serious bodily injuries." According to the lawsuit, the Magnolia Market created by Chip and Joanna Gaines is culpable for negligence, having "negligently allowed the area to become dangerous, negligently permitted such dangerous condition to exist and failed to adequately warn Brown of the dangerous condition."
