'Bloodborne' DLC and 'Dark Souls 3' Release Date News: Hidetaka Miyazaki Working on Expansion Pack and Launch
Game designer Hidetaka Miyazaki is simultaneously working on an expansion pack for action RPG, "Bloodbourne," as well as the upcoming FromSoftware game, "Dark Souls III."
Hidetaka Miyazaki told GameSpot the fourth main entry to the "Souls" series is his "life's work," but he is also working on a "Bloodborne" DLC at the same time to do something new.
FromSoftware president Miyazaki, who is directing the upcoming DLC for "Bloodborne," assured fans he is capable of multitasking on both games without compromising the quality of each.
He has admitted he is used to working on more than one project at a time, including when he was developing 1997's mecha video game, "Armoured" and the original "Dark Souls" as both the producer and game director.
Miyazaki has disclosed he is currently working on the core design for the "Dark Souls III" gameplay in time for its release in 2016. However, he has continued to keep mum over the "Bloodborne" upcoming DLC, of which details have yet to be released.
The "Bloodborne" DLC will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony's video game division. The original game has since received critical acclaim from the time of its release early this year, with one million copies reported sold as of April
The game follows the travels of the hero, Hunter, who moves through the Gothic-inspired environment of Yharnam City. The citizens there are plagued with a blood-borne disease.
Hunter is on a quest for the mysterious Paleblood, and while unraveling the secrets of Yharnam's strange inhabitants, he makes it his goal to rid the city of the source of its plague, hunting and taking down many of Yharnam's beasts in the process. Only then can he escape the nightmare he is in and return to his "real world."
A single-player and multiplayer third-person perspective game, "Bloodborne" was released for PlayStation 4 in March this year.
