'Himouto! Umaru-chan R' Air Date, Spoilers: A Birthday Campaign and New Promotional Video to Usher in Upcoming Anime Series
The two-faced high school girl, Umaru Doma, is returning to the small screen on "Himouto! Umaru-chan R," which is set to premiere in October. Additionally, plans are also being made for the titular characters upcoming birthday later this month.
The anime adaptation of the manga series created by Sankaku Head is heading into its second season with brand new stories and antics from Umaru's ideal school persona and her lazy, alternate character at home. It will also be featuring many of the same cast and crew from the fist season including director Masahiko Ota.
Moreover, it has been recently announced that Umaru's voice actress, Aimi Tanaka will be singing the upcoming season's opening theme titled, "Nimensei☆Uraomote Life!" Tanaka is also on board for the ending theme along with Akari Kageyama and Haruka Shiraishi, the voice actresses for Nana Ebina and Kirie Motoba, respectively.
The singles for both the opening and ending themes will be released on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
In other news, Umaru will be celebrating her birthday on Tuesday, Sept. 26, and a campaign has been started in order to fill the official site with congratulatory messages for the series' quirky heroine on the said date. A special page will be created on the official site to display every Twitter message with the hashtag "#うまる生誕祭2017," which translates to "Umaru's Birthday Festival 2017."
On the other hand, a new promotional video has also been released with Kirie doing the narration this time. Kirie is friends with both the ideal Umaru and her lazy alter ego Komaru, whom Kirie thinks is Umaru's little sister. Will this season finally expose the truth behind Umaru's double personalities?
"Himouto! Umaru-chan R" premieres on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 11:30 p.m. JST on AT-X and at midnight JST on Tokyo MX and BS11. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site.
