Hitler on Indian Ballot is Raises Eyebrows Ahead of State Elections
A state in India is drawing some extra attention after reports surfaced that some individuals who are running for office had some peculiar and unusual names.
The Indian state of Meghalaya is holding elections on Saturday and some of the more than 300 names in the running have caused some eyebrows to rise.
Local reports indicate that the fight for the state assembly is being contested by the likes of Frankenstein Momin, Billykid Sangma and Field Marshal Mawphniang, the Times of India reported.

Other candidates, such as Kenedy Marak and Jhim Carter Sangma, are hoping for some presidential luck.
But one name in the running is standing apart from the rest. Adolf Lu Hitler, 54, is seeking his fourth term as a state assemblyman, insisting that his name has not caused him any problems in the past and that many families in India are obsessed with famous and infamous figures of history.
"I am aware at one point of time Adolf Hitler was the most hated person on Earth for the genocide of the Jews. But my father added 'Lu' in between, naming me, and that's why I am different," Hitler told the Associated Press.
Hilter added that he has been able to travel outside of the country, but does occasionally come across curious people who want to know why he was given such an infamous name.
"I never had problems obtaining a visa but I was asked many times during immigration as to why I should have such a name. I told the immigration staff I possibly didn't have a role in my naming," he added.
"Parents obviously get fascinated by names of well-known or great leaders, but must be unaware that some of them, like Hitler, had been highly controversial," he said.
