'Homeland' Season 5 Episode 4 Recap: Carrie And Quinn Working Together Together as her Life Remains In Danger
The Showtime television drama series "Homeland" is back for its fifth season and in this season's latest episode, main protagonist Carrie Mathison, played by Claire Danes is working in close proximity with Peter Quinn, a black ops operative and former love interest, played by Rupert Friend. Episode 4, titled "Why Is This Night Different?" has Carrie trying to escape whoever is trying to take her out with the help of Quinn, according to a recap report in IGN.
The episode also revealed the person behind the hit put out for Carrie. Quinn ironically was the one who was contracted to kill Carrie but as it turned out, he could not do it. While Quinn was insisting that it was Carrie's old boss and mentor Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) who had it out for her, the twist in the story came out. It turned out that Allison Carr (Mirando Otto), who is the CIA Chief in Berlin and Saul's lover, was the one who wanted Carrie eliminated. Her reasoning for such an order however remains to be revealed.
Carrie, on the other hand, seems grateful for Quinn's help, as she is no longer connected with the CIA. The recap report noted the two sharing a tender moment together while Carrie was treating Quinn's wound when he took a hit for her.
As for Saul, he does not seem to be aware of Allison's actions. If he indeed finds out, this will put him in a bit of a conundrum as both Carrie and Allison are close to him personally. In the episode, he had a lot to deal with since the CIA's plan to orchestrate a change in regime in Syria through the help of a Syrian general did not push through after the general was killed when his plane was blew up into bits.
The next episode titled "Better Call Saul" airs on November 1.
