'Homeland' season 5 plot news: Carrie and Saul reunited
The upcoming season of "Homeland" is expected to reunite Carrie and Saul.
It was reported that with the return of Homeland, Carrie, played by Claire Danes, and Saul, played by Mandy Patinkin, will be brought back together. With that, they will encounter a more violent enemy in the episodes to come.
Reports show that season 5 of Homeland will present a more dangerous plotline compared to that in other seasons. The series will return with events starting two years after the events of the previous season, which showed Saul and Dar Adal, played by F. Murray Abraham, devising a plan. Carrie and Saul were seen in a heated conversation in a teaser photo released by Showtime. Speculations state that Saul will be seen accusing Carrie of being a traitor since she started working with a German security firm. It was reported that this will be an important factor to Saul and Dar Adal's plans. This scene is expected to take place during the first episode of the season which is titled "Separation Anxiety."
The episodes to come will also portray Carrie's life outside work. Few photos revealed Carrie with her new boyfriend, Jonas Happich, played by Alexander Fehling. It also features Carrie sharing special moments with her daughter Franny, such as tucking her in bed and taking her for a bike ride.
Danes explained, "This season we get to see these characters metamorphosize into very different people. Carrie has settled into true domesticity. She's doing great for about 5 minutes."
The photos also featured several characters such as Carrie's boss Otto During, played by Sebastian Koch; Allison Carr, played by Miranda Otto; Sheik Hafiz, played by Samir Fuchs; Numan, played by Atheer Adel; and Mills, played by Micah Hauptman. The new season will introduce a new character played by Max Beesley.
Homeland will return with its fifth season this Oct. 4.
