'Homeland' Season 5 Plot News: Carrie Goes to Lebanon

Season 5 began with Carrie Mathison, played by Claire Danes, realizing that her boss, Otto During, played by Sebastian Koch, will be traveling overseas in order to help out a refugee crisis.

Mathison will be joining her boss on the dangerous travel. The upcoming episode is titled "The Tradition of Hospitality." It will focus on their trip, and the challenges that they will face.

In a promo teaser for the episode, Carrie was seen telling During that the situation in Lebanon is currently unpredictable. They are to only stay in Lebanon for just an hour. However, During will want to stay longer since he has obligations to perform charity.

Nevertheless, he takes Carrie's advice. Unfortunately, that will still put them in dire danger, when Carrie suspected an individual reaching for something that looked like an explosive.

The episodes to come will also cause more trouble for Carrie. A recently released teaser video titled "Classic Trojan Horse" showed Hank accusing her of using During to get intel. He suspected that she was just helping During as a spy, which Carrie denies.

Fortunately, the upcoming season will have someone on Carrie's side. It was reported that Alexander Fehling will play Carrie's new love interest in the upcoming season.

According to TV Line, executive producer Alex Gansa recently shared details about the two. She said, "He meets a handsome guy [Alexander Fehling] and they hit it off. I don't think she is making a mistake on that front. I think she has chosen wisely. This guy is a really good guy."

As for Quinn, it was reported that the will be exploring a darker side of his story for the rest of the season. Gansa shared, "Quinn was doing everything he could to get out, to escape the gravitational pull of that rabbit hole."
