It was reported that the premiere of season 5 will present her with an assignment from Otto that will bring her back to her dangerous life. The episode is titled "Separation."

The synopsis reads, "Season 5 begins with Carrie building a new life in Berlin, almost two years after the embassy attack in Islamabad. But her peace is threatened when a request from her boss forces her back into the dangerous life she left behind."

The season will also see her reunited with her old partner. However, it is unsure whether they will be in good terms, or even be on the same side of the fight.

It can be seen through the many themes that the story explores throughout its previous seasons. With that, the upcoming season is also expected to delve into political issues and current events that are presented in today's world.

"Homeland" premieres on Sunday, Oct. 4.
