'Honey Boo Boo' Cast Receives Raise and Second Season on TLC
The cast of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" will soon be getting a raise, according to reports. The Thomson family previously made only $5,000 to $7,000 per episode, but that amount has been nearly tripled in recent days.
Previously, the Thompson family, which centers around little Alana and her outgoing, at times outrageous mother June, were one of the lowest paid families on The Learning Channel (TLC). Other notable families, including the Gosselins and Duggars, made much more than the Thompson clan, but that is about to change.
In addition to a bump in salary, TMZ reported, TLC has offered to provide a driver for the injured Sugar Bear and help find the family "a somewhat larger, more secure home." Ever since Alana earned her own spin-off series, the family has been inundated with tourists and fans of the show.

Yet "Mama" June has turned down TLC's offer of a new home, and stated that she wanted to stay where she felt most comfortable and the home that has the most meaning for her family. After all, the entire Thompson clan has not lived together in recent years, with June's eldest daughter living with her grandmother while pregnant.
Previous reports stated that the Thompson family was paid a very meager salary for their work on the series, but even before news of a raise broke, June told TMZ, "I don't want to talk about how much we are making, but we're very well compensated, that's all I can say about that."
The show has begun filming its final scenes of the first season and fans will be happy to know that the entire cast will return for a second.
"'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' has become a pop culture phenomenon," TLC general manager Amy Winter told The Hollywood Reporter. "What you see is what you get and we are excited to share even more of Alana and her family's unbridled hilarity, sincerity and love with our viewers."
