Honey Boo Boo Should Be Rescued By a Helicopter? Jimmy Kimmel Speaks Out (VIDEO)
Honey Boo Boo, named Alana, who first starred in "Toddler's and Tiaras" as a baby beauty queen, has been made famous alongside her mother for the new show spin off "Here Come's Honey Boo Boo." The show draws its fair share of critics, and now Jimmy Kimmel has emerged to speak out and poke fun at the show and its reality TV stars.
The new show focuses on Honey's family, who have described themselves as rednecks, and Honey's mother June, who calls herself the "coupon queen."
But with continued publicity many are beginning to question June and her husband Mike Thomson as parents, after a number of episodes have revealed her partaking in questionable actions. June has been particularly questioned with many fans taking to social media networks to condemn the mother for not providing Honey Boo Boo, who is now 6, with a healthy enough diet.
Some episodes have revealed the 6-year-old eating nearly expired junk food and even road kill for dinner, another a special "juice" which contained a mix of Mountain Dew and Red Bull. In the latest episode she made her favorite sauce which was a mix of butter and ketchup.
The poor diet in addition to a number of other questionable parenting habits allegedly resulted in a child services visit in March. Social workers proceeded by taking June to court over child custody issues, although her lawyers successfully argued to have the case dismissed.
But some fans of the show still feel that not enough has been done for the sake of the little girl. Even Jimmy Kimmel suggested over the weekend, as he prepares to host the Emmy Awards, that Honey Boo Boo needed child services.
"The 'Honey Boo-Boo' show, it almost makes me want to cry. It's so terrible in every way, and yet, it is hard to take your eyes off of," Kimmel said in a Friday interview with Hulu. "With that said, Obama needs to send a chopper in there and Child Protective Services needs to go in."
