Honey Boo Boo's Dangerous Diet Appalls Public

Fans and non-fans have been fascinated with little Alana Thompson, aka "Honey Boo Boo," ever since her reign on TLC's "Toddlers & Tiaras." Now, with her new show, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," the world is watching- sometimes with horror- at how this family operates behind the scenes.

During the latest episode, people were shocked to see Alana add not one or two pounds of sugar to a batch of lemonade. Instead, the beauty contestant added a whopping five pounds to the mixture!

"The secret is a lot of sugar and a lot of lemon juice," revealed Alana's mother, June Shannon. "The lemonade has got a good five pounds of sugar and like two gallons of lemon juice." Alana then took the lemonade to a stand and sold it in order to raise funds for her pageant costs.

"Honey Boo Boo had the idea of making a lemonade stand to save money for the pageants. Pageants are a big investment. I raise four kids and I'm able to do pageants as I budget. Honestly, we budget and I try to save money any way I can," June explained. The stand raised $25 for the young girl.

But that wasn't the only "delicious" treat of the night. Viewers also watched the family prepare a batch of "sketti," which is their term for spaghetti. What makes her recipe different from the others? A special sauce of microwaved ketchup and butter that is poured over the noodles.

"I try to cook, like, at least every day of the week," June stated, though one may wonder what her definition of "cooking" actually is. After all, this is the same woman who gave Alana a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew along with 15 Pixie Stix before a competition.

The family's health is an obvious elephant in the room for the series, though June has claimed that she loves her curves and is happy with whom she is. The rest of her family, though, could be headed for unhealthy lives consisting of too much sugar and unhealthy food.

In August, Lauren, Alana's sister, was photographed giving her newborn baby, Kaitlyn, Mountain Dew. She dipped the baby's pacifier in soda before putting it back in the infant's mouth, which appalled many who saw the photo.
