'Horizon Zero Dawn' News: Additional Storylines, Weapons Included in 'The Frozen Wilds'

New skills also set to be made available to players via the expansion

"Horizon Zero Dawn" players can look forward to getting their hands on "The Frozen Wilds" expansion within the next few weeks. And while they are waiting for it, they can learn more about what it will contain.

Lead writer Ben McCaw spoke to the OPM UK recently and shared more information about the new features that are set to be included in the expansion, WCCF Tech reported.

First off, McCaw touched on the kind of story that the expansion will present to players.

According to McCaw, there will be a "very dangerous" and "disputed" territory included in "The Frozen Wilds," and those who will be fighting over it are the members of the Banuk and the Carja. While visiting that new area, players can look forward to immersing themselves in a new culture, meeting new people and even forming bonds with them.

There is also a new threat residing in the area included in "The Frozen Wilds," and it is up to the players to do something about that.

The good news for "Horizon Zero Dawn" players who may not have had enough time to go through the full base game yet is that the expansion features a "side story," and it is one that players can take on even if they are only in the middle portion of the game.

To help players conquer the new challenges that will be put in front of them in the expansion, they will be given new skills to master and these are going to open up more "combat dimensions," according to lead quest designer David Ford.

Players will also be able to try out new fighting styles by wielding the additional weapons coming to the game via the expansion.

"The Frozen Wilds" expansion is set to be released for "Horizon Zero Dawn" on Nov. 7, and those interested in getting it can purchase it for $19.99 or $14.99 if they are PS Plus members.
