'Horizon Zero Dawn' Tips and Tricks: Essential Guides on Crafting Materials, Unlocking Weapons

The newly released action role-playing game "Horizon Zero Dawn" is quickly getting gamers' attention. Here are some helpful guides and tips on several of the game's essential tasks such as unlocking weapons, gathering crafting materials, and fighting robo-dinos.

Gathering crafting materials in "Horizon Zero Dawn" is not necessarily a difficult task, especially considering that the items which need to be collected are practically scattered everywhere.

One of the main tasks in "Horizon Zero Dawn" is to fight robo-dinos - which obviously are vicious dinosaurs but made out of metal, like robots - and defeating them will give players metal shards that are essential in crafting or upgrading weapons.

Aside from metal scraps, players need to remember they also have to shoot down real animals and collect its meat because these are essential materials for creating potions. Players should also control the collection of meat because it might not be as frequently needed as metals so overstocking them might overload players' inventories.

Knowing now that the needed materials for potions are everywhere, there is no point in being stingy about using the resistance potion.

Meanwhile, weapons in "Horizon Zero Dawn" can be tricky. Each gear differs based on the type of elemental ammunition they can fire. Reports have it that the initial weapon can only shoot a single type of ammo so it is crucial for players to unlock various sorts of firepower as early as possible.

Players should know that completing the Hunting Lodge quest will entitle players to three more main weapons, and the rarer a gun is, the bigger type of robo-dino it can take down.

"Horizon Zero Dawn" features the silent strike stealth which, after a few upgrades, can be lethal even to the bigger types of robo-dinos. At its maximum state, the silent strike is unstoppable that it can kill even the human enemies instantly.

However, when players are facing the bigger types of enemies, sometimes stealth is not enough. Luckily in "Horizon Zero Dawn," players have other options such as the use of double and triple shots that get the job done. Also, keep in mind that in this game, slings make more damage than bow and arrows do.

"Horizon Zero Dawn" was developed by Guerilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game was released last Feb. 28 exclusively on PlayStation 4.
