'House of Cards' Season 3 News: Film Crew Seen in Washington D.C.

"House of Cards" is gearing up for its third season as the TV show's crew was spotted at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington D.C., according to reports. Though Netflix did not confirm if filming was taking place in the aforementioned location, the D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development confirmed that the political drama was indeed filming scenes at the famous concert venue.

"House of Cards" Season 2 ended with a shocker as Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) had finally achieved what he has been intending to do his whole life. The ruthless vice president became President of the United States, but he won't be celebrating for long as he deals with his skeletons in his closet when the show returns.

Furthermore, his aide, Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) appears to be dead after being bashed in the head by prostitute Rachel Posner (Rachel Brosnahan).

However, there are speculations that Doug may still be alive. Though Kelly has not confirmed the rumors, he said that he hasn't been officially released from the series and is still under contract.

Show creator Beau Willimon spoke about the complicated motives around Underwood and what viewers can expect from Season 3.

"You can no longer say, 'I'm the guy trying to reach the summit.' Now, it has to have meaning. It used to be that the meaning was getting there," Willimon said in an interview with TVLine.

In other news, two members of a Russian political band will be appearing in season 3. Nadezhda "Nadya" Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina of Pussy Riot will be making their acting debuts on the show, though their roles are kept under wraps as of the moment.

No official date has been announced for the show's return, however, "House of Cards" Season 3 is expected to premiere its first episode on February 2015.
