'House of Cards' Season 5 Spoilers, News: Patricia Clarkson's Character May Be a Frank Underwood Enemy
The upcoming installment of "House of Cards" will take longer this year to release. However, fans may find interest in the new rumor that suggests Patricia Clarkson's character could be an adversary that will take Frank Underwood down.
It was confirmed last year that Patricia Clarkson of "Pieces of April" and Campbell Scott will be joining the cast of "House of Cards" season 5. However, until now, Netflix has not revealed their character descriptions. This has led to speculations that they may be playing some big and very important roles in the series.
According to Den of Geek, Clarkson's credits in the industry could make up for a great enemy that could stand up against the mighty Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey). Frank and Claire (Robin Wright) are currently at the peak of success. Amid health issues and marital woes, the couple has decided to settle for the sake of politics.
It appears that Claire and Frank will continue to fight for their thrones in "House of Cards" season 5. While Netflix has yet to announce the character descriptions of both Clarkson and Scott, fans can expect them to have a heavy impact on the Underwoods' campaign.
In photos obtained by Slash Film earlier last month, fans can see Scott's character having a serious discussion with Will Conway (Joel Kinnaman). It remains to be seen what topic they are discussing. However, Will is New York's presidential candidate and is an enemy of Frank. Could Scott also be an Underwood adversary?
Meanwhile, the photos also show Clarkson's character in a sit down with Claire. The ladies are apparently sitting somewhere inside the White House. One photo sees Clarkson somehow smiling as she sits on a sofa. Is a "House of Cards" season 5 villain hiding behind the smile?
"House of Cards" season 5 is slated to premiere May 30 on Netflix. For now, fans can check out the teaser trailer below.
