'House of Cards' Season 6 Spoilers: Will Claire Become a More Beloved POTUS Than Frank?

Claire (Robin Wright) is shaping up to be an even more beloved leader than her husband ever was in the potential new season of "House of Cards."

According to IB Times, the new installment will see a promising start to Claire's administration as she takes the reins from Frank (Kevin Spacey) as president of the country. The focus of the new storyline will be on her as it is now her turn to become the leader.

Showrunners Frank Pugliese and Melissa James Gibson said that the character will finally get the chance to show her real self when she steps away from her husband's shadow. The EPs noted that she would have a different kind of appeal to the people compared to Frank's.

"Her relationship with the audience is inevitably different. She and Frank are very different characters and have different needs in terms of that relationship. When she breaks the fourth wall for the first time and says, 'It's not that I haven't known you were there,' that points to our exploration of what's different about her relationship with the audience," Gibson said.

Meanwhile, spoilers indicate that it will not be long before Claire makes a move against her husband. Although Frank is technically finished with his term as POTUS, as Claire's husband, he will still be living in the White House. As fans are aware, he is a character who must always be monitored because more often than not, he is plotting something that will benefit him and only him. Claire should always be on her guard for the moment her husband will make a power play against her, but speculations are also rife that she will try to beat Frank at his own game and will make her move first.

However, Claire cannot afford to have a scandal that would besmirch her name. She knows that Frank still has the power to ruin her, and fans are looking forward to their battle of wits to see who will come out victorious in the end.

Since Frank enjoys being in power, it will not be surprising to see him rallying his followers to challenge the new administration, even if it means hurting his own wife.

Netflix has yet to announce the renewal of "House of Cards."
