Houston Rockets vs. Dallas Mavericks Preview: Mavericks Out To Even Regular Season Series Versus Rockets

The seventh-seeded Dallas Mavericks are aiming to even out their regular season series against the number nine-ranked Houston Rockets.

The fourth game between the two teams will be taking place on Wednesday, April 6th, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The Rockets have so far won two of the three games against the Mavericks this season. The first encounter took place November 14th in Houston, with the visiting team winning with a final score of 110-98.

Shooting guard Raymond Felton helped his team come out victorious as he ended the night with 23 points, and six rebounds, shooting 8 out of 16 from the field, through 33 minutes of playing time.

The second game last December 4th in Dallas had the Rockets getting even, ending the night with a final score of 100-96.

It was the heroics of guard James Harden in the second half that helped Houston come out with the win. He finished the game with 25 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists, shooting 10 out of 23 from the field, through 36 minutes of playing time.

The third game last January 24th showed a more dominant performance from the Rockets, as they pulled off another victory at home, with a final score of 115-104.

Harden once again came up big for his team, finishing the game with a triple-double. He scored 23 points, along with 13 rebounds, and ten assists, shooting 7 out of 18 from the field, through 35 minutes of playing time.

Forward Trevor Ariza also contributed big, scoring 29 points, along with three rebounds, three assists, and two steals, shooting 11 out of 15 from the field, through 39 minutes of playing time.

The Mavericks are still scheduled to play against teams such as the Memphis Grizzlies, the LA Clippers, the Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs. And for head coach Rick Carlisle, every single second of every game is a crucial one.

"It's a minute-to-minute, hour-to-hour thing. You're in the fight and every possession going whistle to whistle could be the one that turns it one way or another," he said in an NBA.com report.

The Mavericks are holding on to a 39-38 win-loss slate, while the Rockets currently hold a 38-39 record.
