Houston Rockets vs Portland Trail Blazers Live Stream: Watch NBA Basketball Online (Preview)
The Houston Rockets try to extend their win streak to three games as they battle the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA.
Both teams are battling for position in the Western Conference as the Blazers are fourth with a 41-20 record, while the Rockets are third and hold a one-game lead with a 43-20 record.
To be played at Moda Center, the Blazers have been impressive at home. Going 26-6 so far when playing as hosts, Portland is riding a three game home win streak.
Unfortunately, they are missing some players – notably Wesley Matthews, who suffered an Achilles injury.
Prior to his knock, Matthews was averaging 15.9 points per game, while shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc.
Fortunately, Portland has a deep bench and recently-acquired guard Arron Afflalo has picked up the slack. His season averages are similar to Matthews, scoring around 14 points a night, while sinking 35 percent of his shots from the three point range.
For the Rockets, it is no secret that their best player has been MVP-candidate James Harden. Despite the fact that most teams know this, it has been almost impossible to stop the All-Star guard.
Harden leads the team in scoring with 27.1 per game, while also sharing the ball with an average of seven assists per night.
His has been shooting lights out, shooting 45 percent from the field and 38 percent from the three point arc. He's also been reliable from the free throw line, converting with 87 percent accuracy.
They are also missing a key player in Dwight Howard, and his absence may be a key factor in this game as Portland boast a potent frontline led by LaMarcus Aldridge.
With a win each in their first two meetings this season, this would be the series clincher and would go a long way as they battle for position in the West.
