There's a big story line brewing for Asher in "How to Get Away With Murder" and it's going to be unfolding in the next couple of episodes. Despite being a bit in the background in the first season, it seems that Asher will be playing a crucial role in the way the current season is developing.
As viewers already know, prosecutor Emily Sinclair had made a big reveal about an event that happened in Trotter Lake in which Asher committed a bad act. This is to force Asher to switch sides and become a mole inside Annalise Keating's office. Although the secret had already come to surface, details of what actually transpired that night and the level of Asher's involvement are still locked away.
Matt McGorry, who plays Asher, tells Entertainment Weekly what is in store for his character in the future. He first likens the current flow of the story in what happens in real life, as he goes, "The true details of what happened that night are sort of always a little muddy, as they often are in these actual situations in life, which is incredibly unfortunate." He further adds the compelling current predicament of Asher, "Individual perception and intoxication make things a very complicated issue. Unlike murder, there's no such thing as justifiable rape. It's very tricky because we also live in a society that tends to not believe the victim and tends to side with the aggressor or at least give them the benefit of the doubt, and that makes for a very complicated story line."

This turn of events will put Asher in a tight spot with his career and more likely with his budding relationship with Bonnie. It's already expected that being involved in rape is something that Bonnie will take lightly. McGorry shared about the future of his relationship, "There's a lot they have to navigate through and try to figure out how to proceed, if they even want to proceed, and if Bonnie can really forgive him."
