'How to Train Your Dragon 3' News: Last Part to Make an End to Man and Dragons?
Three years into the launch of the third and supposed final installment in the "How to Train Your Dragon" franchise, rumors are already starting to spread regarding the plot of the awaited movie.
While the possibilities on what the movie's story line could turn into, director Dean DeBlois has said earlier that the final installment will definitely tell the tale of why man does not see dragons anymore at this time.
Several outlets suggest that the film will follow after the path of the book series that it was adapted from. This means the third part will surely put man and dragon in opposing sides in what could be the biggest bout between humans and other creatures.
Author of the beloved book series Cressida Cowell has also previously said that while she is open to other ideas as to how the story should be told, she believes the conclusion will be much the same as how she sees the end.
During the Visual Effects Society Awards earlier this year, DeBlois has confirmed that "Dragon 3" will end where Cowell's books have began — the farewell rites between Hiccup and Toothless.
DeBlois said the third movie in the franchise will see Hiccup and Toothless being of age and leaders each of their own tribes. While both will try their hardest to do what's right for their own kind, something in between happens that will let Hiccup realize that he can do things on his own. The duel then begins.
One of the more awaited scenes is the return of Drago, the villain introduced in the sequel. DeBlois noted that fans should wait for what Drago's character will do in the third film and how his more complicated character will affect the rest.
There is still little known about the other characters, the final plot, and the development of the movie, but DeBlois has hinted that the team is working hard into creating a script that will make the third movie worth remembering.
"How to Train Your Dragon 3" is slated for release in theaters on June 29, 2018.
