HTC One 2 Video Leaker in Hot Water With Smartphone Manufacturer

The person that leaked the video of the HTC One 2 also known as the HTC M8 or All New HTC One is in hot water as the smartphone manufacturer is taking action against them.

A video featuring the yet to be released device was created and leaked by a 15-year-old whose father works for HTC. Once the video surfaced, HTC's Senior Global Online Communications Manager Jeff Gordon addressed the leaker known as Roshan Jamkatel via Twitter.

"We have the IMEI and all other info. We'll be in touch," he said.

The young man claimed that this wasn't the new HTC device and that users that made his video go viral ended up making his father get fired. The video was posted through several YouTube accounts, making it difficult for HTC to do effective damage control.

Another rumor points to there being a $10,000 bounty on the phone that leaked. There are some hackers who are really interested in getting their hands on one and are willing to pay big bucks for it.

The video leaked earlier this week and is around 12 minutes long. It features amateur footage of the actual device. Based on this clip, it can be surmised that the new HTC One will closely resemble the older model. It also confirms that HTC decided to move the buttons on screen and also move the light sensor to a different location.

The HTC One 2 specs and design including the device's metal unibody were discussed in a new trailer released by HTC this week.

The video highlights that the HTC One 2 body will be even more impressive than the one found on the original model. Not much else is revealed here aside from a censored picture of the new HTC One while the actors discuss it.
