HTC One A9 Aero Rumors: New Leaked Images Emerge Online
New leaked images of the HTC One A9 "Aero" have appeared online, just a week before the new smartphone is rumored to be launched.
Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC Corporation is reportedly gearing up to launch a new handset next Wednesday, taking a page from OnePlus' book with a virtual reality event where it will be showcasing its latest smartphone, the HTC One A9, codenamed "Aero."
Just a week before the unveiling, clear images showing the HTC One A9 "Aero" appeared online on serial tech leaker @OnLeaks' Twitter account, showing a dummy version of the phone from a variety of angles.
While the HTC One A9 "Aero" was expected to be another flagship along the lines of the HTC One M9 and the upcoming HTC One M10 that's due in 2016, the "Aero" appears to be more of a mid-range handset based on the dummy device shown on the leaked images.
Rumored to be shipping with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow already on board, the "Aero" will make its debut during HTC's press event in six different colors: Cast Iron, Rose Gold, Carbon Gray, Deep Garnet, Opal Silver, and Acid Gold, together with a moderate specs line-up.
Reported to be carrying an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, it will be supported by 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage underneath a 5-inch 1080 x 1920p resolution touchscreen that sports a fingerprint sensor beneath it.
The HTC One A9 "Aero" will also be supporting Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology feature touted to bring battery capacity up to its fullest after less than an hour of charging.
With a Sony logo on the main camera, it is expected to carry a 13MP Sony sensor. However, no information has been released over its front camera's megapixel capacity.
The HTC One A9 "Aero" will be introduced to the public on October 20 via a virtual event presentation on the HTC website.
