The site is currently offering the Sprint version of the device for less than half the normal on-contract price. The deal is being offered with a new two-year agreement that includes 450 minutes at $39.99 per month. The price is only available to those who are looking to open a new account or add a new line to their existing one. The publication claims to have received this information from two informants who wish to remain anonymous. One of the sources also confirmed that the new smartphone will ship with a lower-resolution screen and a less powerful processor than the larger model.

Rumored specifications for the HTC One Mini include a Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 4-megapixel camera using HTC's UltraPixel technology. The screen on the smartphone will measure in at 4.3-inchs in comparison to the 4.7-inch display found on the original version.

The HTC One Mini will appeal to customers looking to purchase a smaller mid-end device with some of the same great features found on the flagship. It will directly compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, which will also debut later this year.

The company also hopes to reinvigorate the line with this new smaller version of the device, as some analysts have stated that HTC has already peaked with the One in terms of sales.

HTC will also release the One Google Edition later on this year. That will be a pure Android device eliminating HTC's stock software and UI normally found on its devices. Samsung was the first company to announce that it would be turning its flagship device into a pure Android handset with the Galaxy S4 Google Edition.
