HTC One M8 Windows Phone 8.1 vs Nokia Lumia Line Comparison, Specs Review

The Windows phone market has been mostly dominated by the Nokia Lumia series and it seemed it would go that way for years to come. That won't be the case however as HTC decided to release a new Windows phone in the form of the HTC One M8.

The Windows One M8 is still the same as the Android One M8 with the same aluminum body, the same dual LED cameras, and the same high-end specs except for the Windows OS it is running.

Nokia may find itself standing against a strong competitor when it comes to the hardware but HTC will still have to battle Nokia's budget friendly smartphone line-ups like the budget friendly Lumia 500 and 600 series. Although Nokia have hit some snags here and there with their Lumias, they are still running as the best Windows phone in the market.

With the HTC One M8 Windows phone, that may change. To get an idea on what Nokia is running against, a spec run-down for the One M8.

The One M8 sports a 5.1-inch full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution screen and runs using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.3GHz processor. It has 16GB and 32GB variants of internal storage that can be expanded with a 128GB microSD card and 2GB of RAM.

It features a dual 4-megapixel rear-facing camera (or 4-ultrapixel as CNET dubs it) which can support video recording of up to 1080p@60fps and a front-facing 5-megapixel camera.

The One M8 currently goes for somewhere around the $550 (420 euros) mark according to GSMArena. Like previously mentioned, the One M8 Windows is still the same Android-run One M8 except it runs on Windows 8.1 now.

This only marks HTC's return to the Windows phone market and may consider releasing more budget-friendly variants in the future.
