HTC One M9(s) Release Date: Device Arrives in Taiwan, Specs Include Sapphire Glass Rear Camera

HTC has launched another variant of its 2015 flagship smartphone. According to NDTV Gadgets, the Taiwanese multinational manufacturer of smartphones introduced to its home country the One M9(s). It is a new variant of the One M9 after releasing the One M9e in China.

The source cited that the new device is currently available for pre-order through the company's e-commerce website in Taiwan. With a price tag of TWD 12,900 (approximately Rs. 26,000), the smartphone will be shipped beginning Saturday. There are no details yet on whether the One M9(s) will be launched in other countries.

Neurogadget reported that the new variant is very similar to the One M9 flagship but the differences include the processor used and the main camera. The One M9(s) is a budget friendly version so it carries with it an octa-core Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 clocked at 2.2GHz with PowerVR G6200 graphics. It also only has 2 GB of RAM with an inbuilt storage of 16 GB that is expandable via microSD card up to 2 TB. It runs with Android 5.0 Lollipop with Sense and supports single Nano-SIM.

As noted in Android Authority, its main camera is 13-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, BSI sensor and with sapphire cover. It supports 1080p full HD video recording and also optical image stabilization. Meanwhile, the front snapper is a 4-UltraPixel f/2.0 front camera with Flash and Dual-LED. Its other basic specs include a 5-inch Full HD display with 1080p resolution, a dual front facing speakers with Dolby smarts and BoomSound technology and a non-removable battery pack that is 2840 mAh.

In terms of the design, the new model is made up of aluminum body and it only comes in one color variant, which is Dazzling Gold. It has curved edges and rounded corners, with the rear camera having a large square lens. It measures 144.6mm x 69.7mm x 9.61mm and weighs 158 grams.
