HTC's chairwoman, Cher Wang made a statement to CNBC yesterday promising "a very interesting roadmap" for the next few months. She also downplayed the importance of stock performance.

"Stock price is really the past. Innovation is the future. I actually never look into the price, it doesn't influence me," she said. The (ability) of the company to be able to stick with (its) vision is the most important."

She also shot down previous rumors of the company being taken over by a richer competitor from China.

"We [HTC] don't need to be taken over," she said. Wang does not expect a change in the executive team and she also took time to praise the HTC's longtime CEO Peter Chou.

Although her words reflect hope with the current team, investors in HTC are looking for change and remain unhappy with their performance.

The HTC One Max could help the company to better compete with Samsung who currently dominates the Android market. LG has managed to keep its head above water by partnering up with Google and releasing the Nexus devices. HTC currently offers its flagship One device in various colors on many carriers. The One Max should also be available in more than one hue at launch.
