HTC One Running Windows Phone OS to Debut Soon?
HTC and Microsoft are currently in talks to possibly partner up and create handsets running Windows Phone OS.
HTC, best known for their work with Android is considering a proposal from the head of Microsoft's OS division that would include Windows Phone on their Android phones as a second option for consumers, according to a recent Bloomberg report.
Sources with knowledge of the situation claim that Microsoft is considering waving its Windows Phone software licensing fee which will give OEMs an incentive to adopt it. Android was able to soar past competitors by not applying this type of a fee when partnering up with device producers.

Smartphone and tablet companies can download Google's mobile operating system free of charge and can include it on any handset they make. Windows would greatly benefit from the decision if Microsoft decides to go through with it.
HTC attempted at breaking into the Windows market in the past, however, most of its smartphones run Google's Android including its current flagship device, the HTC One.
Releasing handsets such as the One running Windows will allow Microsoft to steal some of the shine that Android powered devices have had for the past few years. The most popular Windows handset at this point is the Nokia Lumia line. Android has its claws in much more high-end devices such as the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note, HTC One, and Nexus line.
The two companies have not come to a decision yet concerning the manner, according to the report. The deal could result in one of two possible outcomes which will either offer customers an alternative to an Android device with a similar Windows version, or will allow users to switch to either OS while using the same HTC handset.
