It seems like the Taiwanese tech company is trying to make sure that they address the major gripe consumers have about the product. Some buyers have expressed their dismay over the long waiting time between pre-order and actual shipping, which is the same issue on Oculus Rift, another popular VR system.

HTC just announced that the Vive will be available for purchase via its official website, www.vive.com, with shipping to be expected within two to three business days from the date of purchase. Apart from online purchase, buyers can also opt to grab an HTC Vive at select retail stores like GameStop, Micro Center and Microsoft Stores.

These VR system items aren't your ordinary headsets. They are priced at $799, which is at par with some of the flagship smartphones in the market today. As for its release date, pre-orders started back in February and shipping in April prior to the latest announcement from HTC regarding the 72-hour shipping upon placement of order.

HTC Vive Demo and Features

People who would want to try out the HTC Vive can demo the headsets in about 100 stores across North America including 22 Microsoft Stores, 30 GameStop locations and five Micro Centers. You can check out the list of these locations via www.vive.com.

Apart from the room-scale VR experience with stunning graphics, HTC Vive comes with two wireless controllers with HD haptic feedback, front-facing camera and 360-degree absolute motion tracking. The virtual content that HTC Vive owners can choose from includes more than 200 VR options from Stream.
