Huawei Ascend Mate 8 Unveiled: Specifications, Features, Price, and Availability
Huawei revealed its latest smartphone, the Ascend Mate 8, during a launch event on Thursday, Nov. 26.

Ascend Mate 8 specifications and features
The Ascend Mate 8 is already listed on Huawei's official site. According to the listed specifications, the successor of the Mate 7 will have a big screen at 6 inches. This LCD screen has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080.
An 8-megapixel camera is located at the front of the device, while at the back, it sports a 16-megapixel shooter. The cameras support 1,080p video playback and recording.
Powering the device is a Kirin 950 processor from HiSilicon. According to AnandTech, the new CPU features a big.LITTLE design clocking in at 1.8 GHz for 4x Cortex A53 and at 2.3 GHZ for 4x Cortex A72. This means new SoC is very efficient and will definitely be a factor in determining the device's battery life, adds the publication.
Speaking of battery, the Huawei Ascend Mate 8 runs on a 4,000 mAh battery, which, together with an efficient processor, will last 30 percent longer than its predecessor, according to Huawei.
Standout features of the device include a Kirin 950 processor, fast-charging capability, fingerprint sensor, and a huge battery.
Huawei Ascend Mate 8 will be available in four color variants: mocha gold, champagne gold, moonlight silver, and gray sky.

In terms of price, AnandTech reports the 32 GB variant has an MSRP of 2,999 yuan (around $470), the 64 GB variant is pegged at 3,699 yuan (around $580), and the 128 GB model's price is set at 4,399 yuan (around $550).
The publication further reports that the Huawei Ascend Mate 8 will be available in China from the first quarter (January to March) of 2016. The device is expected to be introduced to western consumers during the CES.
