Huawei at MWC 2017 Update: P10, P10 Plus Unveiled With Wide Array of Color Options
Huawei graced the Mobile World Congress on Monday with the presentation of their newest products, the P10 and P10 Plus, and what stood out about the smartphones is the wide array of color options.
Recently, the latest flagships come in almost the same color options, which are typically black, silver and several shades of gold. But that is not the case for the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus.
The Chinese electronics manufacturer introduced more color variants than usual for the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus, including Prestige Gold, Mystic Silver, the common Rose Gold, Graphite Black, Dazzling Gold, Dazzling Blue, and Greenery.
The P10 has a 5.1-inch display with 1,080 x 1,920 resolution while P10 Plus is bigger at 5.5-inch with Wide Quad High Definition (WQHD) on a 1,440 x 2,560 display resolution.
Aside from dimensions, one of the key differences between the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus is that the latter was designed with the latest smartphone trend of a curved edge display.
In terms of memory capacity, the P10 Plus gets the upper hand as it provides the option of up to 6 GB random access memory and as much as 128 GB internal memory. On the other hand, the Huawei P10 is packed with an ample 4 GB RAM with standard 64 GB read-only memory. Huawei's P10 memory specs will also be offered as a base option for the P10 Plus.
Another significant difference between the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus are their battery specs. The former is packed with 3,200-milliampere hour while the bigger variant can last longer with 3,750 mAh component.
On the other hand, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus also have major similarities. For one, they both run with Android Nougat software paired with Huawei's Emotion User Interface version 5.1. Both smartphone's face are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
It is also important to note that both devices are powered by Huawei's eight-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset that runs at 2.4-gigahertz clock speed.
Huawei followed through with their Leica-approved cameras with the P10 and P10 Plus. They both have a combination of 20 megapixels and 12 MP dual cameras on the rear. Meanwhile, on the front side, both smartphones have 8 MP cameras.
Both smartphones will hit the market in March. The P10 will be sold at €649 or about $685 while the P10 Plus is a tad pricier at €699 or about $738. Unfortunately, reports have it that Huawei has confirmed these devices will not be available in the United States.
