Huawei Flagship Smartphone P9 Rumored To Launch In March
Chinese smartphone maker Huawei is rumored to be launching their flagship P9 soon. According to GSM Arena, the rumor mill in China says that the mobile device is expected to launch in March next year. However, there is no confirmation yet on whether or not the unannounced device will be ready by that time.
Mobipicker reported that the Huawei P9 was first rumored to come out before the year ends. But considering its predecessor Huawei P8 was just released in April, it seems like the tech company has changed plans, postponing the release almost one year after.
It has also been noted that Huawei just released the flagship smartphone Mate 8, which makes the March 2016 timeframe for P9 sensible. As to what people can expect with the rumored device, there isn't much details available yet.
There are some bits of information floating around pertaining to the upcoming smartphone. Phone Arena reported that the P9 is expected to come with a 5.2-inch touchscreen display, which is similar to its predecessor. The pixel resolution of the new screen is not known though. The P8 came with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels, according to Gadgets 360.
It is also said to come with a "curved design," although, it's not specified if the display itself will be curved. Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to be equipped with Huawei's top-shelf octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 CPU paired with 4 GB of RAM.
A fingerprint scanner and a dual camera at the rear with laser auto-focus are also expected to be featured. The resolution of the camera is still to be known but the P8 carried a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 8-megapixel front camera. Aside from that, VR-Zone noted that there will be two versions of the Huawei P9. One will be LTE while the other one is Delux.
