Huawei Mate 8 Release Date & Update: Coming This November, AnTuTu Scores Phablet 89,630

Huawei is gearing up to launch their latest high-end smartphone dubbed as the Mate 8. After months of just being rumored, the CEO of the Chinese company finally confirmed that the device is coming.

According to a report by Android Headlines, Huawei has released a teaser image via the company's Weibo account. It showed that the Mate 8 phablet will be launched on Nov. 26. Invites have already been sent out to the press. Several fans are excited to get their hands on it as rumors spreading about it suggest that the smartphone is an impressive one and worth checking out.

And it may have just been proven to be that good as reports say that the phone just recently appeared on GFXBench and has been benchmarked on AnTuTu with a whopping score of 89630. That is actually the highest score on AnTuTu to date.

Tech Times also detailed that the high-end phablet will be equipped with powerful specifications. Featuring a 6-inch 1080p (1920x1080) display, Huawei Mate 8 will come in two variants, 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM. The 3 GB of RAM will be paired with 32 GB of internal storage while the higher-end variant will come with 64 GB of built-in storage.

Under its hood will be a HiSilicon Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 2.2GHz. It will also have a Mali-T880 GPU for the graphics processing. Christian Today noted that it will sport a 21-megapixel rear camera and a 5 or 8-megapixel front camera.

But other sources say that it will have 16-megapixel primary camera. It's also said to feature its own version of the 3D Touch feature of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Keeping it alive and powered up is a hefty 4,100 mAh which is certain to bring extended hours of usage. Moreover, it is said to run with Android Marshmallow.

As a flagship smartphone, it's no wonder that it comes with an expensive price. The 3 GB of RAM model is said to cost $520 while the 4 GB of RAM variant will cost $610.
