Huawei Mate 8 Specs: New Render Released, Device Tipped To Come with HiSilicon Kirin 950
Good news for those who have been looking out for the Huawei Mate 8. The waiting is cut short as reports say that it's going to be released this month. According to Android Headlines, the Chinese telecommunications company is believed to be launching their new device on Nov. 26.
And even though the unveiling is still few days away, information and details about the upcoming model have already surfaced. GSM Arena noted that a new render was released by @onLeaks, showing everyone what the device might look like. It suggested that it will sport a thin full metallic body with a fingerprint scanner located below the rear camera.
Phone Arena also reported that the device appeared in AnTuTu, the company behind benchmarking Android smartphones and tablets. As stated in the site, the device scored almost 80k points, indicating that the processing power is high. It is also revealed that the Mate 8 may carry the HiSilicon Kirin 950 under its hood. This means that it will have an octa-core 64-bit chip clocked at a maximum of 2.3 GHz and a Mali-T880MP4 graphics processor clocked at a maximum of 900 MHz.
The upcoming phablet device is also rumored by Ecumenical News to come in three variants—a 5.5 to 5.7-inch screen, a 6-inch screen, and a 6.2-inch screen. However, other sources cited that it will only have two variants. This information remains unconfirmed up to now so it's best to take it with a pinch of salt. The 6-inch variant is said to run a resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels. The handset is tipped to carry either 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB storage or a 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage.
The Mate 8 is also said to run with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and will be topped with Huawei's proprietary EMUI. Its battery pack is rumored to be 4,100mAh. In terms of the camera, rumors suggest that it is to come with 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
