Huawei Nexus 6 release date, specs leaked

Google is set to reveal a pair of "pure Android" smartphone before this month ends, with one made by LG and the bigger device by Huawei. While there are already available details about the LG Nexus 5X, the specs of the Nexus 6 have largely been kept under wraps until lately.

New details on the upcoming Nexus 6 have recently been leaked and reports say that a device with the code name "Huawei angler" was tested in a Geekbench benchmark last week. It was later confirmed that the mystery smartphone was indeed the Huawei Nexus 6, according to the Latin Post.

The Huawei Nexus prototype seen in the Geekbench ran a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip with 3 GB of RAM. It also ran on the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow mobile operating system, which could most probably be included in the final version of the device, Phones Review reports.

Other leaked specs and features of the Huawei Nexus 6 include a 5.5-inch QHD display with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. But there are reports that the final build of the new Nexus phone will sport a 5.7-inch screen.
The Nexus 6 will reportedly boast of a 21-megapixel rear snapper, but the details on its front camera are still unknown. It will also include a USB Type-C port and the well-hyped fingerprint sensor.

Google has scheduled an event on Sept. 29 in San Francisco where it is expected to finally unveil both the Huawei Nexus 6 and the LG Nexus 5X. The tech giant will also reveal the release dates of the two new phones on that day, the report states.

The LG Nexus 5X is rumored to come with a price tag of $400, but the estimated price for the Huawei Nexus 6 remains under wraps for now. But since it is larger than its LG counterpart, it will most likely be more expensive, or will cost about the same as last year's Nexus 6.
