Huawei Unveils Honor 7i With 180-degree Rotating Camera

Huawei does not want to be outdone by its competitors. The company recently unveiled its newest smartphone called Honor 7i that boasts of a 180-degree rotating camera, the first smartphone ever to have such a camera.

According to a report in Tech Times, the Huawei Honor 7i is a smartphone that is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. This same camera, however, can be turned or flipped to face front and become a front-facing camera. The phone thus no longer has a secondary front-facing camera. Although the camera isn't as powerful as the main cameras of other high-end smartphones, it definitely beats any front-facing camera available on most smartphones in the market. For smartphone users who love to take selfies, it is definitely a big plus. In comparison, it is much better than the 5-megapixel front camera of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the 1.2-megapixel front camera of the iPhone 6.

Not only is the camera able to turn 180-degrees, it also has a Sony Exmor sensor which has an f/2.0 aperture and comes with an integrated flash, so even selfie shots come out well lighted.

The phone's other specifications include a 5.2-inch display with 1,080 pixel resolution. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 616 processor with 2 GB of RAM. Internal storage is up to 32 GB, but is naturally expandable via a microSDVX memory slot.

Its operating system is the Huawei EMUI 3.1, which is based on the Android Lollipop 5.1. Connectivity options are through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. It also has GPS capabilities. For additional security, it has a fingerprint sensor at the side of the device. Its battery capacity is big, at 3,090 mAh.

The launch of the Honor 7i follows the launch of the Honor 7 smartphone, which was a phone that could not be used in North America because of its LTE incompatibility.

In China, a person will be able to buy this phone for $250. However, buying it anwhere else could set a person back $300 to $400.
