Hulu, Roku Streaming Problems: 4 Ways to Improve Streaming Quality From Streaming Box or Smart TV

Roku is currently one of the most popular streaming devices in the market, while Hulu is best known for being one of the biggest streaming service networks in the country. Here are some tips to improve streaming quality on streaming devices.

1. Upgrade to a faster internet speed.

Regardless of its brand, any streaming device will not function properly without good connection. People are advised to upgrade their internet every now and then to make sure they get increased download speeds. Those who have 4K-capable TVs need at least 15 Mbps for clearer images.

2. Choose Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi.

While Wi-Fi is a popular choice because it is convenient to use, this type of connection is notorious for being slow. Those who want to change things up can use Ethernet (i.e., wired) for a significantly faster streaming experience. This is better than Wi-Fi because users will not have problems with walls, distance or any other physical interference.

3. Change playback settings.

Playback settings on streaming services can be easily adjusted to suit the user's needs. This can easily be done by switching the "Auto" option, which automatically looks for the streaming option that offers the best picture quality, on or off. Since the device usually looks for a high-definition (HD) option, users can switch to a lower setting to load videos much faster.

4. Close unnecessary apps.

Another reason why streaming becomes slow is the use of background apps. These programs may be siphoning away some of the stream. Aside from turning off the unnecessary apps on the device, it might be helpful to ask other people inside the house to stop some of their streaming activity.

For instance, a graphics-intensive multiplayer online video game may hog the home's bandwidth and make the streaming slow. It's also possible that someone from another room is using the internet to stream on a different device, resulting in a slower internet speed.
