'Hunger Games 2': Julianne Moore Joining Cast?

Julianne Moore is reportedly in talks to play President Alma Coin in the upcoming "Hunger Games" final two movies based upon the conclusion of the trilogy, "Mockingjay."

Moore is a very talented, very famous artist who shows a range of abilities in her roles in such films as "The Kids Are All Right" and "Game Change," in which she transformed into Sarah Palin. "Mockingjay" is due to be a huge blockbuster, given its already popular opening film and the popularity of the book series.

According to the book, President Coin uses the heroine, Katniss Everdeen, for her own political agenda. Coin also uses the hero of the series, Peeta, despite his failing mental health. The President then decides to hold one final, epic battle of the same hunger games that made Katniss a heroine in the first place.

"The Hunger Games," written by Suzanne Collins, was meant for a young-adult audience but has enjoyed great success across the board, with adults devouring the series as well. Lionsgate decided to turn the books into movies, and the first set records for its opening and made Jennifer Lawrence into a household name.

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," the second novel and movie in the series, is due out in July. Philip Seymour Hoffman will make his first appearance in the series as President Snow, bringing even more name recognition to the film that is causing a great deal of excitement.

Should Moore join the cast, she would be signed for the final two movies, as the third novel contains so much action and detail that it had to be broken down for the film. The Emmy-award winning actress has not confirmed or denied whether she is, in fact, joining the cast; the films would likely be a continuation of her success.

"Mockingjay" is set to be released in two parts: the first on November 21, 2014 and part two, the conclusion, on November 20, 2015.
