'Hunter x Hunter' Chapter 361 Release Date May Be Canceled?

As health problems continue to plague the "Hunter X Hunter" author and illustrator Yoshihiro Togashi, the end of the series' hiatus looks more and more uncertain. While there has been no statement to the effect that the current run of the manga will be canceled, there's no firm continuation date either.

"Hunter X Hunter" mangaka Togashi has been frequently a source of combined reverence and frustration by the long-time fans of the series. The author and illustrator of one of the most popular series in current Japanese manga would frequently stall the progress of his story with another hiatus.

It's all understandable, and fans would commiserate with the mangaka's condition. Togashi has been battling severe back pain for a few years now, and while it's a downgrade to the quality of life of an average working person, back pain is a debilitating injury to a manga author.

Hours and days spent hunched over manuscripts and unfinished art can greatly exacerbate an existing back condition, and it's not something that a manga illustrator can take lightly; hence, Togashi's frequent and extended hiatus from writing his acclaimed "Hunter X Hunter" to the resigned frustration of fans of the series.

After a good run after resuming the production of new "Hunter X Hunter" volumes in April last year, the manga author once again announced another break after the 31st issue, as announced by Shonen Jump through Crunchyroll in June of last year. Fans have been waiting for the resumption of the series since then.

"Hunter X Hunter" fans who were greatly concerned by the lack of word from Yoshihiro Togashi regarding his condition was immensely relieved by a Twitter photo posted on October 2016. The photo, posted by illustrator Hisashi Eguchi, shows the "Hunter X Hunter" author up and about, enjoying his time with friends in a party as reported by Crunchyroll.

While the author is still keeping quiet about a return date of "Hunter X Hunter," his fans have generally wished him well and are praying for his better health.
