Hyperloop One Challenge: 10 Winning Routes Revealed

The result of the global competition that was conducted by the US-based Hyperloop One transport company to determine which routes around the world could work best for their Hyperloop system has been revealed.

According to the company's press release, the California-based private transport company successfully assessed each of the proposals submitted to them from different teams around the world to determine which technology, infrastructure, and other factors would suit their vision of providing the fastest transportation option internationally.

Some of the routes include areas across the United States, the UK, India, Mexico, and Canada.

The routes in the US include the Cheyenne-Denver-Pueblo that would go around 360 miles, the Chicago-Columbus-Pittsburgh area that covers 488 miles, the Miami-Orlando route that could stretch at around 257 miles, as well as the Dallas-Houston route that covers 640 miles.

Those in Canada can use the proposed Hyperloop One route to get from Toronto to Montreal at 400 miles, while people in India could use the proposed 208 miles of track from Bengaluru to Chennai at 208. In the other hand, the Mumbai-Chennai route would take them around 685 miles.

For those living in Mexico City and would like to travel all the way to Guadalajara at 330 miles, while those in the UK will be able to get to London from Edinburg with just 414 miles and Glasgow to Liverpool at 339 miles.

AECOM's chairman and CEO Michael S. Burke expressed his excitement over the result of the Hyperloop Challenge and the system as well.

"The excitement around Hyperloop is in its potential to reimagine transportation by eliminating the barriers of distance and time," he stated. "That half of the winning teams are supported by AECOM demonstrates the power of our connected expertise and is further evidence that these are the kinds of problems AECOM is built to take on and solve. We're excited to be part of Hyperloop One's efforts to create impactful use cases for a technology that can transform what it means to get from point A to B anywhere in the world."

The winning teams of the said challenge will be given the chance to do utilize their plans to make sure that the world's public transport system will be fuss-free and safer for anyone in the coming years.
